The Truth Lay Bleeding

A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly

Hold your breath, your eyes will hear
What touch and mind can't feel
Past the pain through ire and fear
Your heart is there to steal

Breaking now a scoop to groom
Your mind and nose with pander
Believe me bro feel-less fume
Through mists of prop-no-gander

Ev'ry night dark shadow cast
Twisted tongue tuned to tale
Receive dark word now thou hast
Absorbed their storied veil

Breaking, breaking drip fed news
Repetition makes it true
The rote will cite and chant these views
No bounds they won't talk through

Hark now know the fear they preach
Echoed news found needing
Upon ev'ry word that they screech
Watch the truth lay bleeding

Listen to their junk scent words
With straight jawed eyes of ice
Mocking beaks of twisted birds
Through lies that don't think twice

Make believe talks of parley
Under guise of peace to weigh
Cozened clowns high on Charlie
Whose words and bombs betray

Spin this as their fault again
Facts swept out to the wind
Wide eyed sheeple stay in lane
Else your herd again be thinned

Hark now know the fear they preach
Echoed news found needing
Upon ev'ry word that they screech
Watch the truth lay bleeding

Great quotes are not where you find great wisdom. It's where you share this knowledge that counts

"The Truth Lay Bleeding" - My Inspiration

Narrative news dressed as truth.

Or in the eloquent words of Franklin D. Roosevelt:
"Repetition does not transform a lie into a truth".

Leonardo da Vinci understood it best:
"Truth was the only daughter of Time".
