The Thief Of Time

The Thief Of Time
A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly
Time and logic flew by fast
Through mist of mortal moments
The tone of time served and cast
Your last mile fading vibrance
Looking back, weekdays did drag
As weekends sped past at warp
Thieves of time raise no red flag
They take as you stare and gawp
Time flies by so fast but see
The ghost of work it capture
Most your life on tokened fee
Neath ravened wings of vulture
The thief of time cracks the whip
Ev'ry morning at the dawn
Slav'ry packaged pick 'n dip
Lost sight of why you're born
Herded sheeple blank face all
Don't ask no awkward question
No one cares if you bawl
Compliance now your mission
Get paid just enough to live
But never so much to thrive
Beholden, tied and captive
Just life-mode to survive
The thief of life cracks the whip
It's born of Satan's spawn
To wear you down, drip, drip, drip
'til all your self-worth shorn
There was a time we had choice
Not dependent on the man
Worked our land spoke out with voice
We were free to do and plan
But this man, he not like it
When he can't control your life
He despise your sov'reign wit
Invents rules to give you strife
Better be alone and right
Than wrong midst the chattel crowd
Individual thought is might
Cry freedom loud and proud
No chief of life cracks the whip
It's your choice if wake at dawn
Just find what you love and sip
The reason why you're born
Great quotes are not where you find great wisdom. It's where you share this knowledge that counts

"The Thief Of Time" - My Inspiration
Time flies by faster than you can spend it. Your time is precious, don't let them steal it from you.
The author Harvey Mackay explained it thus:
"Time is free, but it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it you can never get it back."
