The Scarce

A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly

Excuse me ma'am, can we dance?
No, I don't believe we've met
Well, non belief is my stance
I'm a waltz you won't forget

A puzzled look, a nod to go
Now polished feet glide fast
Relax my dear the world is woe
There's no value to be massed

Hold me close, follow my lead
You will learn all my moves
Step into my barren feed
(Unthinking you approves)

Comfort me my purpose spent
On hollow life pursuit
Indulge me with your essence scent
I'll cross your palm with loot

Empty, empty feel detached
Real meaning is THIS SCARCE
Plumb the depths where dreams are snatched
The lost don't say no prayers

The Scarce it is my dance
Where Nihilists can grow
Less meaning is your chance
For nothingness to flow

Give free rein to each night
A life without restraint
Where moral thoughts go fly a kite
And pleasure's what you paint

Thank you ma'am for this dance
And to tempt you now to stay
I think you can't resist perchance
Please join us what you say?

Well;
I can't say I enjoyed our dance
And now wish we never met
This was just a sad mischance
See Nih'lism's a threat

The Scarce it is a snared dance
Where vampires have a ball
A cesspit of dark finance
From where the worst will crawl

It's where morals take the night off
For corruption is the goal
A feast of flesh where they scoff
A dark night for the soul

The Scarce it has no feeling
No red lines they won't cross
It's hearts and minds they're stealing
And they don't give a toss

So no, I will not join you
My integrity says no
You take advantage of the few
And darken minds with woe

So please don't cast your shadow
Across my realm of hope
This optimist won't swallow
Your unhinged lines of trope

Great quotes are not where you find great wisdom. It's where you share this knowledge that counts

Sharing Is Caring

"The Scarce" - My Inspiration

The slippery slope of Nihilism.

If we think we cannot do anything or make any difference we are right.
If we think can do something and make a difference we are right.
We become what we think.
We are what we do
Nihilism is conveniently tolerated because it keeps people passively compliant within their own lane of indifference.
Life is as meaningful or as meaningless as we make it.
Choose positivity. Resist negativity.
