Memento Vivere

A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly

When tomorrow's days are yesterday
The mind it is compliant
Your willing face, the fate of prey
Suck bugs you're not defiant

Dare look down the rabbit hole
Truth lurks there, you should see
No life of dearth can have a soul
Be brave, be bold, be free

Follow your heart or lose your mind
Feel the fear, but do it still
Burst out from the daily grind
Your life, your choice, your will

Know your worth, own it and smile
Remember to live, rile them with style
I can I will, happens today
Remember to live, come what may

Remember to live with ev'ry breath
Don't stand there in the shadows
Dare to do, have no fear of death
Like a joker on the gallows

Take the risk or lose the chance
Just get lost in what you love
Be bold, be true, get up and dance
Discard the dandied glove

Hope will always feed your soul
Assert yourself with kindness
Loving life's the new rock-n-roll
Sing loud your song it's priceless

Know your worth, own it and smile
Remember to live, rile them with style
I can I will, happens today
Memento Vivere, come what may
