If Love Can Be Imagined

A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly

Hello hell, this looks nice
Your campaigning is so wow
Sprinkling sugar on my vice
Bait my sweet and stroke my brow

Tease me, tease me, why resist
My blind pursuits of pleasure
A hush-hush hook for harvest
Be the product calmed by leisure

We are a small reflection
Of manic leaders served
We choose our own subjection
Through moral duty swerved

In this land of the willing
Where most just cannot see
An outcome that's so chilling
Slow boiled dying by decree

Inch by inch we say goodbye
We don't realise what we've done
All too easy we say aye
To mission creep one by one

Why must Violets always shrink
Resigned to soak in doubt
Stripping out our will to think
We must rise and find our clout

Squaring circles in the brain
Feasting on wheelhouse blues
Sailing Styx through mist and rain
In this ruse designed as dues

We need to own our future
No more fawning to the brass
They can't complete our capture
If we all say no en-masse

No more this blind compliance
Our duty's to fellow man
No more we sit in silence
Shout down all evil plan

There really can be peace on earth
We can feed and clothe the poor
Kindness will show our worth
Love will make all stand in awe

If love can be imagined
Then peace can be created
We need to be determined
For love is ever fated

Love and peace will seize the day
Melting binary conflict
Picking sides is not the way
Spurn this hate-filled constrict

Don't think we cannot do it
'cos it's ain't been done before
See lots of things built bit by bit
Were firsts that made us soar

Squaring circles in the brain
Taming the wheelhouse blues
Parting Styx through clearing rain
No more ruse designed as dues

Goodbye hell, can't fool me twice
I clearly see your lies now
There's no way I'll pay your price
My free will it not allow

Tempt me, tempt me, to resist
Engage your highest censor
Our hushed words will persist
Longer than your tenure

There is no small affection
These mad leaders deserve
Their dour moral abjection
Is their failure to serve

When there's more homes than people
But greed keeps them on the street
A grim disgraceful scandal
Whilst the rich feast flesh to eat

Love comes only from the people
The state don't give a damn
Corporate care is null
Exploitation is their scam

If love can be imagined
Kindness can be achieved
Equality is destined
For love to be perceived

Love will square your circles
Kindness will pay your dues
Dignity makes us equals
With virtue we can't lose

Great quotes are not where you find great wisdom. It's where you share this knowledge that counts

Sharing Is Caring

"If Love Can Be Imagined" - My Inspiration

We need more love and kindness, love is the light in the imagination.

In the immortal words of Martin Luther King Jr:

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
