A Peopleless War

A Peopleless War
An anti-war poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly
It's seconds to midnight
60 years on the edge
An ageless bogeyman
The thin end of the wedge
But just imagine
If we all said no
For war to continue
AI cameras will flow
Ohhhhh the irony
A peopleless war
They point the finger
But we go no more
Their bombs will still fly
And pockets will fill
Their headlines will sell
A glorious kill
But who would have thought
We can war with no men
No blood in the fields
Nor ambush the glen
Ohhhhh the irony
A peopleless war
They point the finger
But we go no more
They will call you to hate
With a straight faced lie
The face of the State
That cares not if you die
They will call you to war
But won't go themselves
They'll feign shock by your roar
Of GO F@CK YOURSELVES
Ohhhhh the irony
A peopleless war
They point the finger
But we go no more
Just. Say. No.

"A Peopleless War" - My Inspiration
War, from an anti-war stance, is best summed up by citing the Brandt Legg line from his book Cosega Shock:
“War is a place where young people who don’t know each other, and don’t hate each other, kill each other, by the decision of older rulers who know each other and hate each other, but don’t kill each other”.
The hypocrisy is off the scale
