A Moment Of Choice

A Moment Of Choice
A poem by Michael Joseph Farrelly
Just how low will they stoop
Their front is so brazen
A parrot faced loop
Servile to no nation
With pockets so deep
Your hope bought by rogues
All 30 piece creep
With polished brown brogues
This globalised franchise
Speak of a new world
Through rose tinted eyes
Fake freedom's unfurled
Yeah, you've sewn in your hope
Your life, love and luck
Like a sad movie trope
That breaks hearts by the buck
You think your vote hurts them
They don't care either way
Your tick can't condemn
Your voice not in play
Why words noose your throat
For dreams of loved care
Most wisdom of note
Will croak in their snare
Tread your eggshells with poise
For costume dressed meaning
Through shields of walled noise
To where this world's leaning
Yet a moment is here
It's a moment of choice
It's a choice that strikes fear
If you refind your voice
So turn up the volume
Let's hear what you say
You'll ramp up their gloom
When say No to their way
Say No to their wars
Say No to compliance
Say No to skewed laws
Say No to fake science
Time to pin on your hope
Your life, love and luck
Where they cannot cope
When you don't give a fuck
Great quotes are not where you find great wisdom. It's where you share this knowledge that counts
